The civil war in Uganda and HIV/Aids stigmatization left most women to bear the pain of single motherhood, poverty and gender-based violence. My sister and many others were left with the pain of being raped, female genital mutilation, uneducated and unemployment.
However, me and you we’re redirecting the mindset of the vulnerable women through our program Malezi Smiles Better Tomorrow by equipping them with business knowledge, mentorship, starting capital and skills. Psalm 82:3 “Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and oppressed”
Red Doesn't Mean Out of School
Girls in uganda, education is a key to their future survival. Yet, girls often drop out of school simply because they can’t afford feminine hygiene products. A lack of education makes some one vulnerabe, and Vulnerability leads to unwanted pregnancy, sexual abuse, domestic violence, HIV, early marriage and a life of no choices.
Me and You, we’re can be a voice of change. Currently, we are working alongside local schools in jinja, luwero and Masaka to reduce the dropout rate by providing sanitary products, teaching girls their value in Christ and igniting their passion for education.

The thunderous noises from the sewing machines we have scared poverty away from some of our members with the few machines we have . We are glad that the women/Youth have moved from strength to strength and now slowly beginning to pull their lives/families from the shameful dungeons of abject poverty they have been languishing in
Long-Term Impact
The sewing program will continue so that the unemployed youth/ women will get employment and they can earn money from their home itself.So far their story is a testimony of the old adage about God that; He has good plans for His people. We are grateful to all those who have been part of this empowerment journey. Your acts of compassion have now become an embodiment of hope for many women and Youth in Uganda.
